Fitness with Child Minding in East Toronto

Here are some places to exercise in Toronto when you have baby (or a toddler in tow).

MOVE Fitness

Move fitness is a women’s only studio in Leslieville with several time minding time slots. Including one on saturday which is rare. I have heard from other moms that their kids actually ask to go there because they like the playroom so much. It’s very busy on Saturdays in the kids room though so I might not take a very small baby on the weekend that gets easily overwhelmed. The emphasis of move fitness is strength training. The facility is extremely nice with all the amenities you could want and new equipment. It is on the pricier side but you get what you pay for. It would be nice to see more cardio focused classes though and they also don’t have a lot of mid-afternoon classes.

Toronto Yoga Mamas

Location: 1402 Queen St E
Website: http://www.torontoyogamamas.com/

Toronto Yoga Mamas offers such a wide variety of services to mothers and moms to be. I’ve attended a number of different ones including pre-natal yoga, mom & baby yoga, crawlers yoga, monthly mom groups, and I’ve also used their wellness services such as massage. They also have a cute boutique with curated items. They offer so many different services as well that I haven’t tried. Continue reading “Toronto Yoga Mamas”

Appleseed Yoga

Location: 765 Queen St. East, Toronto (Ralph Thornton Center / On top of the library)
Website: https://www.appleseedyoga.com

Appleseed Yoga is a new practice run by Megan, a local riverdale mom. I’ve taken pre-natal classes with Megan at a different practice. I haven’t yet had a chance to check out her new practice but I’m sure it’s great. She offers infant, toddler, and kids classes as well as weekend family classes.

Baby Swimming at Regent Park

There are a number of rec centers that offer swimming lessons for babies and toddlers for free or at low cost in Toronto. You can search for them here on the city of Toronto website. Even though it’s not the closest though I prefer to go to the newly renovated Regent Park pool for both lessons and drop in swim. You can see the programs currently offered at Regent Park here.
